- WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PYLEWELL?
We loved the idea of having a beautiful country house and grounds, but preferred the more intimate and informal nature of a marquee. With Pylewell and the Pavilion, you get the best of both worlds, which is so unusual. And, the team at Pylewell are so relaxed and really let us create exactly the wedding vibe we wanted with zero stress or pressure. Put simply: it was the perfect setting.

- TELL US ABOUT YOUR MOST MEMORABLE PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Tough decision! The boys had an excellent morning going for a jog to the beach and a swim in the sea; the girls enjoyed the amazing surroundings of the bridal suite and the incredible spread of breakfast (and champagne!). Watching the faces of our guests as they approached the venue for the ceremony and when Lydia walked down the aisle was incredible. We will choose the two-hour spell that encompassed the last hour of the champagne reception and then the entrance and first hour in the Pavilion. That two hour spell encompassed everything we loved about our wedding – drinks outside with all our favourite people in the amazing setting looking down the grounds towards the sea; followed by a fun, intimate setting for an amazing wedding meal.
- TELL US YOUR VISION FOR THE MARQUEE AND STYLING? DID IT LIVE UP TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS?
We wanted it to be casual, and had a lot of green foliage and neutral flowers running down the tables and hanging from the chandeliers. Long banqueting tables kept things relaxed and conversation flowing between everybody, and a great route for us to walk up and down for an entrance song and between courses! Big sharing plates of our favourite food (curry) fit the objective perfectly. There was loads of space for the bar and the dance floor, so nothing felt squeezed. It was brilliant.
- HAVE YOU GOT ANY FEEDBACK ABOUT THE PYLEWELL TEAM? WE WOULD SO LOVE TO HEAR IT.
WHAT. A. TEAM! We were quite organised but the Pylewell team took away any remaining wedmin stress or bother. It was so smooth and perfectly executed. On the day, various guests would often say “has it been a stressful day or week?” and we could proudly tell them in reply “not at all”. Because Aby and the team ran the day like clockwork, taking the management of the day totally out of our hands so that we could have all the fun.
WHAT’S YOUR TOP TIP FOR ANY FUTURE PYLEWELL COUPLE?
Book it immediately! We may have been the first couple in history for the groom to book the venue before the bride had seen it – and in hindsight that wasn’t a risk at all because the venue is just so beautiful. It was a no-brainer. It’s no wonder the venue gets so booked up so that is the main challenge! Otherwise, make the most of Pylewell’s relaxed approach to your use of the venue. Bring your favourite booze, your favourite food and your favourite people and make the most of a special place.
