WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PYLEWELL?
We chose Pylewell for a number of reasons. The house itself and the grounds are stunning, and Aby, Nicole and Annalisa were so friendly and accommodating during our venue visit(s)!
The sun was shining during our visit and the view of the backdrop of the sea, through the trees behind the circular lawn, was easy to fall in love with.
We felt the venue offered great value for money, compared to others we’d seen. We’d only seen others online. Pylewell was the first and only venue we saw in person, before booking!
The house gave Shelby “Bridgerton Vibes” with a traditional, classy feel throughout. We really enjoyed the thought of our entire bridal party having exclusive use of such an amazing house for two days!
It is a really versatile house with a number of reception / study / dining spaces. The contingency plan was an inside wedding and the room would have been a more than suitable back-up, if it was needed. Thankfully, it wasn’t!
The Pavillion was also a great space – a “blank canvas” to some extent but a really spacious room that we felt we could truly make our own with decorative touches.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR MOST MEMORABLE PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?
We had mixed and changeable weather for almost the entire day, but the sun shone on us perfectly with blue skies for our 30 minute ceremony, so it was like someone was watching!
We had amazing photographs in both the sun and the rain.
Our speeches were all brilliant and we had a band who sung our first dance song. They really got the party started and had guests on tables before our mains had even been served!
TELL US YOUR VISION FOR THE MARQUEE AND STYLING? DID IT LIVE UP TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS?
Shelby had a vision for the marquee/pavilion and brought this to life, mainly with the use of draping. Gavin from Little Lighting Co absolutely smashed it. We had plenty of Pinterest Boards which combined white with subtle touches of green (with flowers and foliage) and yellow, to match Shelby’s bridesmaid dresses. We went for long tables rather than circular for a sociable feel with our guests and, with the Little Kitchen Co’s creativity, the room was staged beautifully.

Pylewell have a team of world class individuals who truly care about making sure you have the perfect wedding. From our initial calls, to about 10,000 emails, we had unwavering support. They were always prompt to reply to enquiries, to liaise with or recommend suppliers, to amend our schedule / timings whenever requested. The two day stay ran seamlessly and even when we had torrential downpours, Nicole was running around in the rain, picking up speakers from the ceremony space, which had been used for one of our Bridesmaids to sing Shelby down the aisle, 10 mins prior to the downpour!
WHAT’S YOUR TOP TIP FOR ANY FUTURE PYLEWELL COUPLE?
Just book it in a heartbeat. You won’t be disappointed.
Lean on the approachable nature of Nicole, Aby and Annalisa. They are all so lovely and nothing is too much trouble.
Take a walk down to the beachfront on a sunny day. Look back at the house from the rear elevation. Just as amazing as the front!
Imagine all of your nearest and dearest being able to share the same house together, for two days (or three!) with breakfast, lunch and dinner put on for you. You don’t have to lift a finger and can just enjoy the luxury. We felt like a King & Queen for a few days.
Visit in advance (once you’ve booked) and make use of Pylewell’s kind offer to stay in the house / Penthouse in advance of the wedding at a discounted rate! We did this with our dog in the February prior to the wedding. We toured the house again, completed our “room selector” for our bridal party, and sat planning with a takeaway curry (from an amazing curry house in Lymington High Street!) and a few drinks. It was a really nice retreat and helped us plan our day / vision in so much more detail.
We’re truly privileged to have chosen Pylewell as our wedding venue. We’ll definitely be back to stay again in future!
