Spring

Our beloved Pylewell starts to come to life after a few months in hibernation. We can’t begin to put into words how glorious Pylewell is in the Spring but we will do our best!

Bursts of yellow daffodils start emerging from mid-February along with pretty crocuses and the first signs of life from the Camellias. April weddings simply must take a stroll down to the lake with their photographers to get a snap in a sea of bluebells and wild grass.

Pylewell is renowned for its dazzling display of rhododendrons and camellias and the house gardens are a blaze of bright pink during April and May. The gardens are a sea of green with beautiful Spring blooms bursting into life. The weather is often mild and sunny – perfect for drinks on the lawn and group photos before heading into the Pavilion for dining and dancing.

Should the weather be wet you are welcome to hire the ground floor of the house for drinks and canapés and you will also find three different rooms licensed for ceremonies. Our outdoor sail structure is usually up from April throughout the summer and we wouldn’t need to make a final decision on ceremony space until the day before the wedding.

When it comes to Spring you have floral options to suit every palette. Create a floral frenzy with a beautiful mix of delicate and textural, fragrant and symbolic and that’s before we get to the colours; the palest of pastels, to bright and bold oranges and yellows. Tulips, hellebore, ranunculus, alliums, sweet peas, clematis, lilacs, cherry blossom, the list goes on! Your florist has foraging rights to the estate meaning you can quite literally bring the outside in and create a fabulous Spring scene in the pavilion.

Our team of stylists can add beautiful textured linen and coloured candles to complement your chosen palette, and catering options are yours to explore, whether that’s beautiful spring salads, seasonal garnishes and floral puddings or pretty spring cocktails. From beautiful spring salads, seasonal garnishes and floral puddings to pretty spring cocktails adorned with edible flowers.

Make sure to invest in some cosy rugs and marshmallows for toasting stations and your guests can relax on the terrace next to the firepits pre-dancing in the early evening light.
