WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PYLEWELL?
Although we live in London, we are both from the New Forest so we knew we wanted to get married in the area. We’ve grown up visiting the surrounding beaches and looking at the house from afar but had never actually been inside, so were very excited when we first toured round! We fell in love with the sea-view and grounds, but it was actually the option to create a completely bespoke wedding, with the support of the lovely Pylewell staff, which made us realise it was the venue for us!
TELL US ABOUT YOUR MOST MEMORABLE PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Where to start! It was raining the morning of our wedding and predicted to do so all day, however miraculously the clouds parted when we left the church and we were blessed with sunshine! Having the band play outside, with our friends playing croquet and delicious canapés circulating endlessly on the lawn – it was a dream come true! We also ended up both crowd surfing at the end of the night, which is definitely something we’ll never forget…! Having all our friends to stay the night before and a big meal in the house too really set the tone for the weekend and made it feel like a holiday for everyone involved.
TELL US YOUR VISION FOR THE MARQUEE AND STYLING? DID IT LIVE UP TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS?
We absolutely loved how Pylewell left this to us to style and decide what we wanted to do. We are both quite creative and had a really strong vision for a spring celebration over the Easter weekend. We loved adding little nods to this too: Lindt gold bunnies on the table settings, pastel colours and an Easter egg hunt across the grounds for the kids (adults!). The Pavillion is gorgeous in itself, but also a bit of a blank canvas – we added a stage and a disco ball which helped create a fantastic atmosphere for dancing after the wedding breakfast (and facilitated the crowd surfing!). We loved having long tables and sharing platters of food too to add to the laid-back style the event. Another perk of Pylewell is the different areas – we had toasts inside the drawing room to kick off the event, followed by canapés on the lawn and then the wedding breakfast in the Pavillion – guests loved moving about the grounds and having the opportunity to explore a bit too.

We are so grateful to Aby and the team for everything they did to ensure this was the best day it could possibly be. Pylewell really do think of everything – from the delicious breakfast spread to organising bubbles for the bridesmaids on the wedding morning – all the tiny details that help create the perfect day. We also love how cohesively they worked with all our suppliers, both those that are well-known to Pylewell and new ones, again taking the stress out the day for us as we didn’t have a wedding planner. What Pylewell do is very unique – providing you with the support of professionals while also allowing you to shape the day as you desire – it is definitely the venue’s USP (alongside the gorgeous house and views!).
WHATS YOUR TOP TIP FOR ANY FUTURE PYLEWELL COUPLE?
I would say trust the staff and let them guide you – they know what they are doing and how to make your day work as seamlessly as possible. Also, no idea is a silly one – Pylewell are really up for ensuring your day is memorable and individual and we enjoyed bouncing ideas around to work out what would suit us best. I’d also recommend utilising the house as much as possible; we loved having it full of friends and family and extending the celebrations across the weekend.
