The wedding of Andrea and Mark
- WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PYLEWELL?
Not long after we got engaged, we went on a trip to Dorset and decided to check out a couple wedding venues on the drive back to London. Pylewell was the second venue we visited, and we were instantly blown away! From the house and beautifully furnished rooms to the gorgeous grounds with its stunning view of the sea, we both could imagine getting married here. We also loved that there was enough room for both of our families to stay at the venue for the whole weekend and spend time with each other. We confirmed our wedding date that day!
- TELL US ABOUT YOUR MOST MEMORABLE PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Mark: Seeing Andrea walk down the aisle in the church!
Andrea: The nerves leading up to walking down the aisle and the relief of seeing Mark at the end of it. Followed by Mark’s surprise harmonica performance with the band at the end of the night!
- TELL US YOUR VISION FOR THE MARQUEE AND STYLING? DID IT LIVE UP TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS?
Since the marquee is a blank canvas, we knew the decor was a key part of making the space come to life, but the full vision came together as we worked on each of the pieces:
First, we decided on the floral styling, and we were drawn to the rich palette and arrangements shown in the 17th-century Dutch Master still life paintings. Worm London understood this style perfectly and creatively executed it beyond our expectations, adding floral and fruit variations for each table and styling it with beautiful tall candles in antique brass candleholders.
For the rest of the table decor, we worked with our exceptional caterers, Kalm Kitchen, to hire round tables, chairs, linen, green glassware, and charging plates that complemented the florals. We had so much fun trying out all the different styling options at Kalm’s beautiful tasting room.

We also wanted to add height to the space, so we hired some olive trees from Whitestem and worked with All Parties and Events to add fairy lights to the canopy.
We had a special band playing, and we wanted to have a great dancing space, so we worked with All Parties and Events to add the band stage, band lights, and a huge disco ball for fun lighting that set the scene for the party.
During the wedding planning process, you’re making design decisions in isolation with each vendor and hoping nothing clashes, so it was such an incredible feeling for us to see all the decor come together in the marquee on the day! We really loved how everything turned out.
