  • WHY DID WE CHOOSE PYLEWELL?

With our lives being spent living onboard our 38ft sailboat, it was important to us to have a link to the British coastline, but Pylewell was much more than that. Not only did it offer beautiful views of the Solent, where our adventures began, but it offered stunning grounds for outdoor ceremonies, a stunning house for guests to sleep in, and a pavilion to dress how we’d like to eat and dance in!

And if all that doesn’t win you over, Aby certainly will! Incredibly helpful and takes all the stress out of planning a wedding 🫶🏼

Beautiful views of the solent

  • WHAT IS THE MOST MEMORABLE PART?

Funnily enough, we both said the same thing..standing under the sail shade with all our friends and family saying our vows to each other. We had written our own ceremony which my brother officiated, but he made us write a section separately and send to him which we then read out to each other on the day and those words were magical and heartfelt, which had everyone in tears 🧡

  • VISION LIVING UP TO EXPECTATIONS?

Oh my gosh!! When I initially came to see Pylewell with my mum I knew instantly that I wanted to get married there. I already had a vision of how I’d like to style the day and Pylewell lent itself so perfectly to that. With its rustic trestle tables, beautiful cross back chairs and sea views, it was the perfect base for my boho beach vibe. Being a visual merchandiser I had planned to do a lot of the decor myself, especially as Pylewell let you have the day before to set up. So I got a bunch of friends together and my MOH did an incredible job of organising spreadsheets etc. However, I soon realised there was only so much I could do, so I got in touch with the wonderful Rhiannon from Willow and Wisps and asked for her help, she was amazing. I dropped off all the second hand flowers, vases, bouquets etc that I had purchased, explained my vision and with very few questions she got the idea completely! I felt so happy to have her there on the morning doing bits I just wouldn’t be able to do. She even installed a wire in the pavilion (apparently never done before) to help create my vision.

So Wednesday, me and friends hung lampshades, laid out rugs and put out placemats, napkins, hand dived scallop shells (by Dominic), and second hand cutlery, then went to bed that evening leaving Rhiannon to work her magic!

Expectation?!! She took my vision and made it more breathtaking!! When she delivered our bouquets, when I came down the aisle and saw what she had done with my demijons and second hand flowers, and then the pavilion oh my gosh! I couldn’t have dreamed it being as good as it was! She is an absolute gem and am so thrilled she was co stylist 🧡

  • FEEDBACK FOR THE PYLEWELL TEAM?

Just keep doing what you’re doing! You’re all wonderful! You made the day run smoothly, made us feel completely at home, never felt uncomfortable being in such a grand place, everyone was so accommodating, understanding and friendly! You’re an amazing family of people and I hope to come stay at Pylewell and see you all again!

  • TOP TIP FOR FUTURE COUPLES?

Book the two night option! It’s such a stunning place to be with your loved ones. After setting up on the Wednesday, we enjoyed pizza and wine on the gardens, before Dominic and I went to enjoy the double bath in David (bridal suite) and said goodnight before I went to sleep in Hermione. I only wished I could’ve booked the Friday night too, so that Friday could’ve been a lovely relaxing day around the grounds before saying goodbye to everyone after the most epic day of our lives!
