WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PYLEWELL?
In 2020, just after George and I began dating, the world went into lockdown. We moved in with his parents in Lymington, and our favorite escape became long countryside drives through the New Forest. Each time we passed Pylewell’s sweeping, tree-lined drive, we’d glance at each other and imagine what might lie beyond it. When we discovered it was a wedding venue, we tucked it away as a dream for the future.
Two years later, newly engaged and beginning our wedding plans, Pylewell was the first venue we toured when we were visiting his parents—and the moment we arrived, we knew. The romantic setting, sea views, and historic charm captured our hearts instantly. Nowhere else compared.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR MOST MEMORABLE PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?
After the ceremony, George and I slipped away for ten quiet minutes with a glass of champagne to simply be together. The nerves had lifted, and for the first time all day, it was just us.
Because we hadn’t done a first look, that moment felt extra special—our first chance to really see each other and let it all sink in.
TELL US YOUR VISION FOR THE MARQUEE AND STYLING? DID IT LIVE UP TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS?
I envisioned an atmosphere that felt elegant, intimate, and romantic. When I discovered Mia Sylvia’s ethereal draping, I knew she could bring that to life. The pavilion became a cocoon of soft, sculptural fabric that transformed the space into something truly magical.
The tablescape was understated yet thoughtful—custom silk scarves designed by my sister were tucked into hand-embossed menus that I designed, tied with French blue ribbon. Creamy blooms and loose greenery echoed the draping’s organic flow, creating a elevated yet effortless feel. I wanted to honor Pylewell’s historic beauty while adding a chic, contemporary touch—and it was everything I’d imagined and more.

HAVE YOU GOT ANY FEEDBACK ABOUT THE PYLEWELL TEAM? WE WOULD SO LOVE TO HEAR IT.
The Pylewell team was nothing short of extraordinary. They’re as kind as they are capable, and we felt completely supported every step of the way. Planning from Seattle could have been daunting, but their warmth and organization made it seamless.
Our weekend flowed effortlessly thanks to them. A special thank you to Aby, who guided us from our first visit in 2022 and truly helped bring our vision to life.

WHATS YOUR TOP TIP FOR ANY FUTURE PYLEWELL COUPLE?
The weekend will fly by—take intentional moments to pause and soak it all in together. Look around the room, feel the joy, and remember how rare it is to have everyone you love in one place.
Lean on the incredible Pylewell team—they’re true experts who care deeply about what they do. We didn’t have a planner and never once felt unprepared. And whatever you do, take a long bath in the bridal suite’s iconic copper tubs—the view is unforgettable.
