WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PYLEWELL?
We looked at lots of venues, but we knew Pylewell was the one from the second we arrived. It’s beautiful, of course, and we loved exploring the house and walking down to the sea, but it also just felt so welcoming, and everyone we spoke to was so lovely. It had everything we needed, and when we were talking about our plans with the wonderful Aby, everything just felt like it clicked into place.
We loved the support and flexibility, knowing that we could really make our wedding our own. It was amazing that we could have it for the whole weekend too – the dinner on Friday night with our closest friends and family was so special, and meant we really got to spend time with everyone.
We visited a few times in the build up to the wedding, and every time we reached the New Forest, we could feel the excitement building and just knew that Pylewell was going to be somewhere really special to us. The house is so amazing, but more than that, every single person we spoke to from the Pylewell team and from their recommended suppliers were just brilliant, talented, lovely people who made us feel so at home, and clearly care so much about the events they deliver.
We love it. It’s so special.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR MOST MEMORABLE PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Polly: There was a moment where I came out of the Pavilion after our breakfast, and looked around, and there were all of my favourite people sitting in the sunshine, talking and laughing and looking so happy, and I just felt so overwhelmed by all of the joy and love that I felt. It all goes so quickly, but that moment feels like it exists in slow motion. Mainly I remember just feeling so happy and loved all day and that comes flooding back whenever I think about it or look at our amazing photos!
Rick: Watching Polly walk down the aisle with all our closest people in front of me was unlike anything I’d experienced. The beautiful setting under the sails and the incredible backdrop of the house made it feel even more special.
TELL US YOUR VISION FOR THE MARQUEE AND STYLING? DID IT LIVE UP TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS?
I can’t tell you how long we spent planning out the styling for the wedding! We had a clear vision of what we wanted, and Aby helped us to find dream suppliers to make it come to life, and the end result was beyond what we could have hoped for!
Kemlo and Kemlo created a wildflower wonderland for us, with the most beautiful urns and meadows you’ve ever seen! It looked magical – some guests told us they felt like they were at Chelsea Flower show – and I loved that it was all local and seasonal, and we didn’t know exactly what we were going to get! Ginger Catering made the tables look gorgeous (and were an INCREDIBLE caterer), and the Pylewell team themselves have created something so gorgeous with the Pavilion and the outside spaces, and provided so many small details that made such a difference. The candles and lighting were stunning. It’s hard to picture it all when you’re planning, and you’re just hoping it all comes together, but it could not have been more beautiful.
The space is really open, and flows really well, and feels so relaxed. Also, the last minute addition of a disco ball from All Parties and Events made all the difference to our dancefloor – I highly recommend it!

I will never stop telling everyone how amazing the Pylewell team are! They are so professional and organised, and everything ran so smoothly from the early planning stages to the weekend itself. Nothing was too much trouble, and they had great recommendations for every idea we put to them. Every detail is considered, every eventuality catered for, and yet they are so calm and lovely to work with!
They’re also so warm and welcoming. There was no other venue like it – they made us feel so special, and like our wedding was so important to them. You can tell that they really care, and it makes such a difference. They’ve created something so amazing.
We were truly able to enjoy every moment knowing the amazing staff and suppliers had everything in hand. The day was utterly seamless and the Pylewell team managed to deliver something that felt tailor made to us and yet practiced to perfection.
Aby, we love you. You made our wedding an absolute dream and we’re so grateful that we had someone like you on our team.
WHAT’S YOUR TOP TIP FOR ANY FUTURE PYLEWELL COUPLE?
If you can, spend the whole weekend. It’s so special and it goes so quickly, that the extra time with everyone at the house is priceless. Especially as you’re running around so much, having the time on Friday night to relax and spend time with everyone is so valuable.
Take a step back every now and then to soak it all in. Look around and bask in all the love, and the result of all of your hard work.
And leave everything on the day to the Pylewell team. They’ve got you. It’s going to be great. Just let it all happen and enjoy every moment.
