Ceremony Options

Places to say ‘I do!’ at Pylewell:

You really are spoilt for choice on spaces to say your ‘I dos!’ if you are getting married here at Pylewell. From our bespoke balustrade sail structure, to open air sea views at the black gates, or maybe you are after something that is more intimate like our circular rhododendrons gardens or our timelessly glam drawing room, pick a space that you love for that all important big moment. All of our ceremony spaces are licensed for marriage, so whether you choose a civil ceremony or celebrant, you have plenty of choice on the perfect spot.

OUR BESPOKE BALUSTRADE SAIL STRUCTURE:

Right at the front of the balustrade with incredible views down to the seaside, our bespoke balustrade sail is a super soft yet modern space to deck out as you wish and say I do!

9 overlapping sails provide shade from the sun or cover for those slightly more drizzly days. You will find a lovely wide aisle ready for you to dress up as you like – think meadow flowers, aisle runners or just plenty of room for that fabulous dress to come sweeping down! Built in time for the start of our 2024 wedding season, we have loved watching our couples add their own stamp to the sail structure – from giant installations, draping flowers, and statement pillars to frame that dreamy sea view, we adore how creative you can be with this space to make it your very own. With a maximum capacity of 200, and the longest aisle in the house, this really is one showstopper spot to exchange your vows.

THE BLACK GATES:

With one swopping long aisle starting from the centre of the house and waltzing all the way through the gardens to the black gates, this ceremony spot is for the seaside lovers who want that open air feeling to their ceremony with a touch of drama from the gorgeously long aisle. Starting this trend on the hottest day of 2022, our very own Nicole chose to say her ‘I dos’ with the best sea views overlooking the Solent.

CIRCULAR RHODODENDRONS GARDENS:

Our favourite spring time ceremony spot – the circular rhododendrons gardens. Blooming early spring, surround yourself and your guests with oh so many bright pink rhododendrons for that wild and whimsical spring magic when you say I do. Arrange the seating in straight lines, or add a slightly more modern touch and have curved seating all around you, the choice is yours. This space is perfect for big floral aches to frame your ceremony space and compliment the surroundings.

Fancy having the charming main house as your ceremony back drop? Why not hire a fabulous car to drive you from the front of the house round to the black gates for the most fabulous aisle entrance with the sea in the background instead.

THE DRAWING ROOM:

Our favourite winter ceremony spot and the most magical back up wet weather option should the terribly unreliable English weather not be playing ball. The drawing room is packed full of character and oozes charm – think old school glam at its finest! It is one of the first rooms that Colefax and Flower ever designed for a country house in England – our couples love this timelessly romantic spot to say I do! Our drawing room is licensed for up to 130 people, with an additional 20 in the dining room. It barely needs anything extra other than a flower or two!
